Full Moon Musings…Can you feel the love tonight?

Can you feel the love tonight? ❤️

The moon shining high in the sky so brightly, her beams spreading glorious rays of light into the deep dark sky, feel the magic spreading upon this earth, look up, greet your angels and ask for guidance.

Let the healing powers of the divine touch humanity and heal what is broken. Abundance awaits, love is present, positive energy flows freely, unexpected shifts, endings, revelations…it’s certainly a time for new beginnings!

This last full moon of the decade provides the opportunity for introspection and time to find answers to questions that we don’t often have time to ponder.

What do you need in order to feel safe and secure? How have you been sacrificing your own peace of mind for the sake of keeping up? Are you taking enough time to rest and rejuvenate. What is truly important to you?

The answers to these questions may very well be something totally different than you ever thought, the answers may really surprise you.

Take some time to embrace the idea that maybe, just maybe, you’re embarking down a different path in life. And it’s truly OK!

“On the night of the December moon, we rejoice for it will be Yule soon. This is the month for loving and giving. To look in our hearts and start forgiving. The nights grow colder and longer as our bonds and spirits grow stronger. The moon in December is big and bright, showing there’s light in the darkest of night. Make your dreams and wishes clear, for things you want in the New Year.”

Grateful! Thankful! Blessed! ❤️

Can you believe the year is quickly coming to an end? Thanksgiving is just a few days away and Christmas will soon follow.

I don’t know about you, but for me this year has been a year of transitions- a year of constant movement. Change and reflection has been the recurring theme in the days, weeks and months of this year as I strived with all my heart to find some balance and make sense of the chaos! ❤️

I think these words may resonate with many of you, as it seems of late that the entire world is out of balance…political infighting, cultural differences, divorce, death, cancer…out of balance…spinning out of control on its axis ready to crumble is probably a better way to describe the state of our universe, and many of us feel it deep in our souls.

Many nights I sit awake and wonder WHY? Why is my path so different from other 47 year old women? Why is the world so messed up? Why am I angry and resentful? Why do I love so much? Why do I care so much about making a contribution to the greater good? Am I really making an impact in the world in which I live? Will I ever find the answers for which I am looking? Do YOU ever struggle to find the answers?

I look to silent meditation to find the answers, calm the mind, find balance, and soothe the soul; as I sit in deep and silent meditation each morning and night, the only answer that comes to me is keep moving toward the sun. That’s one bit of advice I can share with you.

Another suggestion for finding balance in a chaotic world is to form a circle of support around you. Lean on the people that love you – let them help you and more importantly LET THEM love you. It took me a long time to allow a support system inside my walls, but without my friends and family for love and laughter, my Duffield for companionship, my co-workers for support; I too, like the earth, would undoubtedly be spinning out of control on my axis ready to crumble!

As I think about Thanksgiving and the meaning behind the day., I think of all of you. I am blessed beyond measure! Because YOU continued to stand beside me, holding my hand, and providing guidance during this crazy overwhelming year of transition, I have become closer to my family and friends, I’ve let go of the people to which I needed to say goodbye, I learned to ask for help help, I grieved and was held up by people who loved me, I had amazing conversations that I never imagined possible, I laughed, I cried, I’ve succeed, I’ve thrived, I’ve met goals, I’ve over come anxiety, and I have survived…because of YOU!

May you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving full of many blessings. I am extremely honored and blessed to have all of you in my life. ❤️

Grateful! Thankful! Blessed!!

Crayons in the Sky!

Extraordinary moments in nature at the end of a day reconfirm God’s splendor; and sunsets like this that paint the sky like a box of crayons, remind us that God is shining through offering his gory and guiding hand in the midst of all storms! To YOU my dear ones, I send more LOVE, more LIGHT, and more PRAYERS❤️ May GOD wrap his arms around you and give you some peace!

1728 Hours

And in the blink of an eye, the sunny days of frolicking by the pool, muggy morning jaunts with your favorite furry friend, hot summer nights on the porch with a cold beverage in hand rambling about life with friends, and weekend adventures begin to dissipate, and soon summer will be but a distant memory.

I think I accomplished most everything on my summer bucket list…and Yes, I did dance in the rain and finally jumped off the high dive (thank you for the encouragement Lexi Moore), ate blue crabs, went sailing…and the list goes on and on…but most importantly I fell in love with life all over again. ❤️

I realized while completing my bucket this list summer that it wasn’t the things on the list that mattered, it was the people with whom I checked off my list…my parents, my brother, niece, nephew, and my friends aka, my tribe! ❤️

We shared love and laughter, yes there was sometimes discourse and sharing of truths, and it wasn’t all “rainbows and happiness” but it was real, live, truthful honest living. There was love and forgiveness and support of one another; a new found respect between friends, vulnerability and truth within our tribe. ❤️

I’m just wondering how you choose to use those 1728 hours of summer?

Did you challenge yourself to take an extra step when you didn’t think you could you go any further? Did you take grand adventures? Did you love hard, laugh much, spend time with friends and family? Did you forgive a friend? Did you take time for self care? Did you help someone in need, or try to at least look at their situation from a different perspective? How about taking the time to see the deeper than the surface and look at the beauty in someone’s heart, maybe take a chance on something new and different and possibly step into the unknown? What about laughter… I laughed so much this summer sometimes it hurt! Did you cry? Yeah me too, life isn’t always fair. But in the end, we look back and see the lessons that we were taught, trusting that everything in life unfolds according to a plan that was created by something much bigger than we are.

I hope you put your 1728 hours to good use, as they will never be returned to you. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised, today is all we have…chose to live it wisely. ❤️

Love and light ❤️

Love! Grace! & Peace!

The sun went down tonight, and the moon rises high in the sky like it does 365 days a year, but tonight something in my heart and the hearts of many are aching as they send prayers of love, comfort and healing to their wife, their daughter, their sister, their mother and their friend.

We are hoping for a miracle – a miracle that will take away the pain, a miracle that will restore her body to the glorious state it was before cancer began to invade her cells!

We pray! We love! We send light! ❤️

We ask the divine one that protects to give her comfort as her journey continues.

We may not understand why? We may not think this is fair- in fact our friend has been dealt a very crappy hand of cards, but even so, she continues her journey as a survivor with the utmost faith and grace – she smiles and lets her light shine!!!! ❤️

Let this all be a lesson to all of us…

Please do not let your past experiences stop you from seeking your one true love, for it will find you when you are least expecting it. She knows, they found it! And when you find it, be sure to open your heart and let love inside. ❤️

Never let your circumstances put you in a state of pitty or sorrow that you judge or take your anger out on others, for there is always someone facing a more difficult journey than the path you walk.

Walk with grace and show others that no matter what your fate, God always has your back. She knows! She lives this way and teaches others by example! ❤️

Please get up tomorrow morning with an open heart and let your freaking love shine, dance, laugh, celebrate, pray, and send all of your good vibes to dear sweet beautiful Lisa Myers.

She is an inspiration to many! Let her feel our love! ❤️

Crickets! Moon glow and moving waters of the mighty River! 🙏❤️

I sit tonight in quiet silence along the mighty Susquehanna River to find a sense of clarity and peace.

The cool breeze is gently blowing my hair and touching my cheek, I hear the sounds of the river a few yards from my feet, and I feel you calling me…I am still not sure what your message is…so I continue to sit.

The crickets are chirping, the motors of the fishermen’s boats are heard as they periodically pass by, and then I hear it – in the distance; the beat of a drum drawing me into a deeper meditative state allowing me to only concentrate on my breath. Time stands still. All is calm. Peace has arrived.

For today my friends the purpose is not to solve all of the worlds problems; our purpose is to walk the journey that has been planned for us with grace and dignity, sharing the divine gifts that are deep within us to others while benefiting the greater good. When life feels like it’s moving too fast, find a river, sit under the moon glow, and escape to the peaceful quiet space of your silent mind with a mindful pranayama meditation. It is here that whomever is calling you will gently show you the way. Find your peace, and your purpose will be unveiled.

“You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.” —Eckhart Tolle

Angels Among Us

For many of us today we return to work after a long weekend of family 4th of July Holiday celebrations, fireworks, cookouts, and lazy days by swimming pools; but for two families I hold very close in my hearts their weekend was very different. These families lost someone dear to them…a mother and a sister. Two women who deeply impacted their lives and the lives of many others during the time they spent on earth. Lives well lived! Jobs well done!

There comes a time in life when those we love dearly must take the next step in their journey and pass onto the next realm…for me I have only ever thought of this wonderful place as Heaven.

For our loved ones, their last breath means leaving behind those they love to return to those they have lost years before, it also means they may let go of the struggle, let go of restless days and nights and fall to sleep gently, returning to a place of peace and splendor, only to return and bless those on earth as angels from the celestial city…angels among us.

Family and friends who are left behind feel a deep and complete sense of loss for their matriarch, grandmother, sister and friend as their lives have been touched by this amazing human’s gentle spirit as she roamed this earth; their easy smiles, their gentle guiding hands, their friendly demeanor and welcoming ways will not be forgotten, and they will always be near when needed…angels among us.

Look up, feel the rain on your cheek, the soft wind blowing on a cool summer evening, the leaves floating softly through the autumn wind, they are not far…angels among us.

My dearest friends, I wish you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.❤️

Summertime and the living is easy…but is it?

The summer solstice: longer days and shorter nights, warm rays of sun and light touching the earth for more hours each day.

At this time we rejoice and celebrate for the long winter nights are behind us as the the seasons change and bring with it the cyclical nature of growth, death, and rebirth; in fact, the balance of life itself hangs on nature’s wings.

I’ve always thought of summer as a magical time of year, a time to resort to my childlike ways, splashing in puddles after warm summer evening rain showers, riding front seat on a coaster screaming the entire way down the terrifying but oh so refreshing first drop, spending lazy afternoons by the pool with family and friends, reading the book I can never seem to finish but it’s always in my pool bag, kayaking down cool refreshing creeks screaming and laughing at the feeling of the cold water on my skin…but this year I feel a little different.

Don’t get me wrong I am overjoyed that tomorrow is the first day of summer!

I would be even happier if the Pennsylvania weather would bring sunshine and rainbows rather than flash flooding and tornadoes, but as I said I feel differently…summer IS arriving differently.

There has been a storm of activity in my life and the lives of those I hold dear to me: sickness, loss, change, anger, bitterness, anxiety, attachment, denial, questioning, dishonesty, but yet through all of this just as the seasons change, and spring turns to summer, life continues forward and we manage to survive this crazy life and come out much better on the other side, by linking our arms, sharing our love, and creating a stronger more bonded group of kindred spirits…you are my family…you are my tribe! ❤️

Take a breath of the warm summer air, look up at the sky, and know your angels are looking down on you and try to comprehend that everything happening in your life at each and every moment is part of the divine master place. Even when you don’t understand how all the pieces fit together…trust…and believe…but most of all know that you are blessed beyond measure.

Clarity of Mind = Peace

I’m not a scientist, I have no degree in psychology, but I do pay attention to my body and spirit; and I’m trying to stay as connected as I possibly can – I’m doing the work to raise my vibration to a positive level, but there are times in my life when I vibrate so low that I feel as if the world is spinning out of control. It feels like a lion is chasing me, the fear is so paralyzing that simple everyday tasks are so difficult to complete. Have you ever felt that?

Thankfully today is a perfect day, the sun is shinning, I’ve completed my morning work and I took a little jaunt around town with my best furry boy Duffield and I’m sitting on my back porch feeling the calm warm wind on my face before I go into my office to complete my afternoon work…but first I thought I would write…as maybe my words might help you get through your day if it isn’t as perfect as mine!

Life happens people!! It’s not all sunshine and butterflies; but by surrounding ourselves with good people, getting up every morning and doing our best with God’s help we will succeed. Some days doing our best might be getting in the shower and forcing ourselves to complete the days tasks and faking a smile; other days things might fall into place with ease!!! By prayer, meditation, doing the work, and belief in YOURSELF; I promise those hard days will turn into beautiful days full of sunshine!

Keep working, keep moving forward, keep filling your life with love!

Today on this perfect day, I thank my mother and father and brother, I thank my family I thank my wonderfully amazing friends, I thank JO for guiding me, I thank my angels and spirit guides…I thank you for loving me at my worst and celebrating with me at my best!!!!

But most of all I thank GOD for giving me this beautiful precious life full of so many gifts that I may share to the world and make an impact!!!! And I promise that I will continue working to create the best version of myself so I can share with the world!!!

“Mamma said there would be days like this!” I’m just glad beautiful perfect days full of goodness follow the crappy ones!!!!

I love you!! ❤️

Change abounds in Spring

Sitting at my desk this  evening in the quiet of the late hours of the evening, I can almost smell a freshness in the air, I close my eyes for a moment and envision the buds on the pink fluffy cherry trees and the daffodils that will soon peak there beautiful petals from beneath the frozen soil to come into full bloom…there is a freshness, a newness, a rebirth surrounding the earth…change is happening right before our eyes.

This spring has been monumental for me, I have made a major change in my life and have accepted a new job as the State Director for a national non-profit organization called GoRail where I will be educating and advocating for the public benefits of freight rail.

Change is good, change is refreshing…it is exciting, it is fascinating. Then why do we spend much of our lives putting up barriers and blocking change?

If you are having difficulty approaching a change in your life, please take a moment to sit back in your chair, grab your favorite essential oil, and take a deep breath with me. Is there something in your life that which you are struggling? Something that you are not allowing to come into being? Take another breath and allow the newness of this season to flow into your body, allow the freshness to penetrate every inch of your being, and as you exhale, let those pesky little attachments and barriers flow out as your breath flows from your body. With your next inhale, breathe in new energy, breathe in courage, breathe in excitement, breathe in springtime! And with your next exhale let it go!

May you find the courage to take that next step you have been resisting, may you find the courage to have that important conversation with the ones you love, may your life be filled with amazing wonders this spring. May you be well, may you be safe and free from harm, and may you be loved!

Much love and light to you all,

Melissa
