The Universe has your back

Everything is OK and then in an instant – like a big bang – it isn’t

I know in my mind I live a very blessed life: wonderful friends, a loving family, a precious dog and a stable profession.

I sit in gratitude and abundance; and then I don’t!

Fear creeps in – gossip and rumors present and my mind begins to tell me I am NOT ENOUGH!

I spiral into a puddle of tears, and then “they” win.

I sit, I scream, I cry, and I rest!

I wonder, can you do “it” better than me?

I must trust that tomorrow will be better.

Reset, pray, find peace and trust that everything happens for a reason – know that the path is unfolding exactly as it should.

Have the utmost faith that the universe has your back my dear one.

Take a few deep breaths and settle into a divine restful sleep – rejuvenate your spirit!

I promise it will be better than OK when you stop trying to make sense of the actions of others; after all it isn’t your responsibility to absorb their pain.

You are only responsible for living your life in a calm, peaceful state of grace where YOU find your own happiness – then and only then can you make the utmost contributions back to the Universe.

Real Conversations with God!

I woke up early on 5 FEB and started my drive to Whitetail Ski Resort. At 0834, I looked up to the sky – it was surreal. The sky was bright with sun and the colors were dancing all around. The best light was shinning throughout the universe.

The veil between heaven and earth was thin.

He began to speak loudly and clearly to me.

I listened intently with all my heart.

Listen! Watch! Be ready!

It is coming and it is big!

Go and do. Stop playing small. Stop being afraid. I have given you everything. I am here. The veil is thin today. Talk to them; they are listening.

Walk away from the madness, and go someplace you will be appreciated where you use your talents and where you will be truly valued for your contributions and what you bring to the table.

Stop playing small, and put it all on the table.

Do everything in your life with kindness and compassion.

Channel me, and write the book.

She cried, she listened, and she thanked him.

In a moment, she knew her life was changed for good as she knew that she had the power to live her hearts desires.

Oh, and don’t worry about him – I’m creating the perfect relationship for you! ❤️

He is always with us.

Stop, pause, listen and tune in – you will receive the answers you need.

This is what your religions mean when they say that you were created in the ‘image and likeness of God’ … Our essence is the same. We are composed of the same stuff. We ARE the ‘same stuff’! With all the same properties and abilities – including the ability to create physical reality out of thin air.”

A magic wand

If you had a magic wand, what would you want your life to look like right now?

That is the question I need to have answered in ten days. The rules – NONE; the answer – LIMITLESS. Abundance is free flowing.

So where to start?

Photographs do tell a story.

Those that know me well know that I have thousands of photos in the cloud – a photo (or multiple photos) to document every occasion, so, when I am old and grey, I may click open the virtual photo albums and remember the days filled with joy and laughter.

Except the photos that I perused of late are of dogs, beautiful sunsets, nature, skies, storefronts and buildings. HUMAN interaction is lacking. I also noticed that in every picture of myself, my mouth is closed, my teeth are not showing, and my smile is not as bright as it once was. The glimmer seemed to be gone.

Huge awakening.

I scrolled back through my library of photos as tears of gratitude rolled down my cheeks; thankful for the friends and family I saw surrounding me as I smiled from ear to ear.

What the heck happened to the glimmer? The past few years have not been easy for any of us, but I don’t know if I have actually processed my story until this exact moment.

Circumstances beyond my control!

I was at the Governor’s Inaugural Ball in 2019 dancing, drinking wine and having the night of my life with some of my dearest friends. A few days later, I learned the news that my job would be abruptly ending. Two months later, I was working for a national non-profit organization in DC and fourteen months after that, I changed my geographical location, moved back to my home town and started a new job. COVID-19 happened. Pathogens began to rage through my body, and I gained twenty pounds.

Reflecting tonight, I had no idea how the chain of events since the spring of 2019 caused such a jolt in my life; nor did I understand that leaving the town I called home after 11 years would impact my life so drastically. I left my yoga community, I left my friends whom I called family, and I think I left my glimmer sitting on the curb in that little town that I came to love so dearly.

Our past circumstances do not define our future.

So now what?

I am gainfully employed, I live in a beautiful home, I live within ten minutes of both my parents (and, I am one lucky girl to still have them both walking on this earth with me), I am reconnecting with old friends, I am making new ones, I found knowledgeable and trusting doctors, my massage therapist is fabulous, I practice yoga daily, I meditate, I have a spiritual practice, I journal, I am blessed beyond measure, and I am totally grateful for the life I have been given – but, I still can’t freaking find my glimmer!

The answer is simple.

If I had a magic wand my life would be full of glimmers; many connected moments in my life that spark joy and peace – I am not talking about great big experiences of JOY, I am talking about many micro moments where my smile gets a little brighter, my eyes glimmer at the thought of waking up to a new day of endless abundance.

It is time to step fully into the light and seek the good stuff.

Who wants to go on a glimmer journey with me?

“Since we are no longer humans lurking in the forest hiding from hungry animals, we don’t need to focus on the negative – see a glimmer, look for more and then delight in finding them – be deepened – be alive.”

We honor and remember them

In the years following the Civil War, Memorial Day was known and celebrated as Decoration Day; Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in 1971.

We continue the observance of Memorial Day on this last Monday in May; we pause for a few moments to honor the brave men and women who walked fiercely into battle giving their lives for the citizens of the United States of America.

Memorial Day, albeit the unofficial beginning of summer, provides an extraordinary opportunity to take pause, to give thanks, to remember and to honor the service of each and every member of the U.S. military who lost their lives protecting our freedoms.

These Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coasties and Guardians, members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Space Force, gave everything for you and me – their honor, their bravery and the ultimate sacrifice – their lives.

As many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, hold family gatherings and participate in parades, today may we stand together as a community – many of us wearing our red poppy of remembrance of those fallen in war – and express our unyielding gratitude and thanks for each and every man and woman who lost their lives fighting for this great Nation.

We pause, we remember…

One for honor…

One for duty…

One for service…

God bless those who lost their lives serving this great Nation, and God bless the United States of America.

Living, loving and loss

My family lost a very special person a few weeks ago; she was a daughter, a spouse, an aunt, a sister and a friend.

The amazing human being I speak of is my step-sister Kris.

Even though, we fought like cats and dogs growing up and she didn’t always understand my craziness , and I never quite understood why she read so many books, we had a mutual respect for one another.

Through the years, I would be dash into town stopping at Brandon Drive quickly before heading to the next social stop; she would be sitting quietly reading, having a conversation with Dad or puzzling with her mother. We would hug and chat; have a quick catch up and bid farewell until the next time.

I was busy with my life and she was busy with her life, but she never missed the chance to send a handwritten note for my birthday, and I can’t remember a Christmas that I didn’t receive a Christmas card with an inspiring message written inside. We exchanged quick texts to catch up. I guess, I always thought there would be more time.

It was her logic, dedication to growth, thinking out of the box and commitment to everything that allowed her to walk through this crazy world impacting so many.

She was a woman who lived her life with the fierce abandon to make a difference in every person she touched. She wasn’t flashy or loud, and she certainly didn’t need compliments or praise.

Her life wasn’t easy, but she met every challenge with dignity, grace and perseverance until the end. She understood her path and how she fit into the life that was given to her.

She filled her life with books, family, friends, cats and experiences with the ones she loved – she picked her people well!

We all experience loss, and each and every one of us are entitled to grieve in our own way.

Grieve easy, grieve hard; do it on your own terms, but please don’t get so lost in the sadness that you can’t remember that with every loss, there was a life extremely well lived!

Her smile. ❤️

Teaching with compassion. ❤️

The inspiration she passed through her gentle ways. ❤️

Grace and humility. ❤️

The love she gave to everything – even the humans that were hard to love. ❤️

Buy yourself the damn flowers!!!

I bought myself the damn flowers!

Has there ever been a time in your life when you thought things were just CRAP?

Crap for me is a time when all the nagging thoughts in my brain causing anger snd angst about every situation in my life to come spilling out of my mouth and be projected into the world, more times than not, onto the ones I love the most, for that I am very sorry! ❤️

And then, in a quiet moment of meditation, guidance and clarity is provided.

I must love myself more!

If I loved myself more, I wouldn’t be so damn angry with the world.

When we love ourselves more, our energy raises and our positive vibe reaches throughout the universe! The love for self is projected to everyone around us. Our life becomes blissful and shit isn’t as hard.

Love is given, and love is received! ❤️

Life becomes easier!

❤️ Today, I promise to start loving myself more; I am worthy of love.

❤️ Today, I promise to start loving those who love me more, my family and friends deserve my love.

❤️ Today, I promise to stop questioning my abilities and understand that I am knowledgable, educated and intelligent; I believe in my skills and abilities.

❤️ Today, I stop letting the opinions of others rule my life; I am confident of my abilities.

❤️ Today, I promise to let go of all the negative shit that is festering in my mind; I am living a life full of magnificent possibilities.

❤️ Today, I promise not to work so damn hard; I promise to find balance in my life to include fun and fitness; I am growing and changing.

❤️ Today, I promise to find happy in all circumstances; I am manifesting the life I desire.

❤️ Today, I bought myself the damn flowers; I choose me.

Set yourself some boundaries, write some positive mantras to live by and buy yourself the damn flowers…I did!

With positive light and loads of love,

– Adele Josephine ❤️

Honoring Independence

There are certain places I visit that cause a stir to my soul; for me those places include oceans, trainyards and tracks and porches, especially when I’m sitting in a chair being doused by the light of a full moon.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is another place that has the same effect on me; this small town played an extremely important role in shaping the future of the United States of America.

I had a few hours to spare this morning while I was waiting on Duffield to be groomed, so I walked the quiet streets, visited the National Soldiers Cemetery and drove the winding roads passing through the hallowed ground of the battlefield.

As I approached Devil’s Den, I remembered that as a child I jumped and ran and climbed the rocks giggling and playing. As I played freely, I gave no thought to the importance of this pile of boulders on the southern side of Gettysburg.

I didn’t realize that during the the Battle of Devil’s Den, fought on July 2, 1863, nearly 8,000 blue and the gray soldiers fought bravely and fiercely. I also didn’t know that over 2,800 casualties ensued in just one battle on day two of the three day Battle of Gettysburg.

And as a young child, I never stopped playing on those rocks long enough to understand that this battle in Gettysburg was the most important engagement of the Civil War.

Today, on July 2, 158 years after the Battle of Gettysburg ended, I sat atop Devil’s Den starring at historical monuments and statues of fallen soldiers far in the distance, and I fully understood the significance.

I understand that even though the Battle of Gettysburg happened after the Revolutionary War, remembering the history that occurred in this small Pennsylvania town in 1863 is extremely important. #historymatters

The Battle of Gettysburg and wars that preceded and followed were fought to preserve OUR freedoms and provide us OUR independence. #letfreedomring

“All we need comes from within: Inspiration from a connected spirit.” – Adele Josephine

Someone once told me life wasn’t supposed to be easy. For a long time I took that statement as truth, and I thought life was supposed to be difficult. Yet, as I journey to find spirit, I yearn for peace. I look to find flow in life.

Certainly life does not always have to be difficult.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Seek a harmonious flow.

There are moments when I feel more connected than others. There are times when I’m receiving clear guidance from spirit; other days I struggle with nothing but chaos in the mind. The clutter of everyday life feels like it is readily overtaking the calm in flow of spirit.

Yet, the journey to peace must continue. The control slowly begins to dissipate and glimpses of peace slip in and calm the mind.

Breathe in. Breathe out; allow the harmonious and beautiful life that has been provided to you begin to resonate.

Learn how to live in peace. ❤️

It can be that easy if you allow.

A magnitude of emotions

It’s extremely difficult at times to settle into the quiet stillness of meditation as memories of precious moments of the past come quickly to the surface; multiple worlds and times converge as reality.

The mind does have a difficult time deciphering truth.

How can it be June 1, 2021, many years have gone by quickly; life has changed rapidly. What was then normal, seems so outrageous in this time and space.

Make it stop; go forward faster. No, go back. More memories flood into my cerebral being.

Joy, sorrow, anger, happiness, excitement, love, grief, resentment.

Feel it. Breathe through it. Capture it.

Nothing makes sense one moment, and in the next moment, all is calm and unfolding as it should be.

Do you feel all of that stuff bottled up inside.

Breathe into it and into the silence of the mind; focus on the white light of love and move forward into the one life that is waiting for you.

We are not given a second chance at life.

So feel the magnitude of emotions burning a hole into your soul, and let it burn for a little while.

Be thankful and blessed that you were given those precious moments, and then continue your adventure on this earth living each day to your fullest with grace doing everything you can to contribute in the name of love.

We are on this earth to feel joy and experience goodness; be the master of your fate and the captain of your soul.

With love,

Adele Josephine ❤️

Constant battles

In 2003, I was sitting still at a stop sign; a drunk driver (.23 blood alcohol content) going over 65 miles an hour crashed into me head on! I was taken to the hospital on a back board and treated for spinal injuries.

I was stubborn and tried to deal with the pain on my own with out surgery. A few months later, I was the first of ten patients to try a surgery called IDET to fix my spine.

I gained weight; at my highest weight I weighed 320 pounds. I couldn’t work out, I could barely drag myself out of bed and I lost my luster for life.

I did go to work; I took only as much leave as I needed. I have a strong desire to make a difference in this world. I worked when I couldn’t do much else.

If tou have never had a spinal injury, you might not understand the impact to mental and physical health.

Sometime after the accident, my body started attacking itself – and on top of the spinal injury, I contracted Lyme disease (probbally because time in nature was a release for me). Autoimmune conditions started affecting many parts of my body…multiple surgeries followed over the next 15 years.

I still worked. I had surgeries and procedures on Thursday and fought with my doctor to go back to work on Monday. “I’ll take it easy I promise,” was always my bargaining chip.

I was ridiculed because there has been so many things wrong with my body. I had to be making it up.

There was one particular instance in which my life flashed in front of my eyes. As I was driving into the General Assembly to my job at the Senate, I couldn’t feel the right side of my body. I couldn’t exactly know if I was pressing the brake in my vehicle. To the hospital I went. Was it a stroke? Nope, it was a migraine brought on by my autoimmune conditions.

Once again my body was attacking itself.

Despite the odds of my body attacking itself, I have managed to lead a happy life. I have had many successes, held many exciting jobs and have succeeded in life and continue to contribute massively to the greater good – it just takes me more effort to do it!

I prevailed.

I have battled (and so do many of you) and continue to battle these unseen diseases. It is exhausting: some days harder than others.

These diseases are not made up, nor are they fake!

Please look around before you make a judgement about someone…you have no clue the journey they are walking . Be kind, be respectful; and maybe before making a snide comment about a choice they have made, offer support and grace.

After all, aren’t we all fighting our own battles?

Much love and light,

Adele Josephine❤️
