The Rules of Engagement: For Your Life…Thriving and Growing in the Longest Days of Summer

Of utmost importance: love yourself first.

Be strong enough to set healthy boundaries and never let the indecision of others or the pressures of this wildly chaotic world pull you away from your path.

You have grown. You have awakened. You have put in countless hours of dedicated work. Now it is time to let go, seek joy, and trust that everything you have been manifesting is making its way to you. Release the need to fight or force what is meant for you. In time, it will arrive, and when it does, receive it fully, knowing you are worthy of magnificent abundance, deep love, and lasting peace.

Seek joy in all things.

Recommit to your health—not from a place of pain or punishment, but from a place of love. Build strength through consistent training, move your body every day, and celebrate what it can do.

Spend time on your yoga mat, in prayer, and in meditation. It is there, in the quiet, that you will hear God’s guidance—if you slow down, tune in, and allow His presence to lead you.

Watch the sun rise. Gaze at the moon. Never tire of a beautiful sunset. Each one is different, each one a reminder that life is constantly changing, and every day offers another chance to begin again.

Spend time in nature, and let nature nurture you.

Believe that true love is just around the corner, and allow it to find you. Continue loving yourself first, and practice kindness, compassion, and empathy toward everyone you meet. Remember, many people are carrying burdens you cannot see. Offer grace, but also take the time to fill your own cup. You cannot pour from an empty one.

Drink your water. Eat your protein. Enjoy a scrumptious treat when your heart desires it. Sleep deeply, and wake with gratitude and energy for the gift of a new day.

Release the people who are unwilling to celebrate your growth or lift you higher. Choose your tribe wisely. Surround yourself with those who inspire you, believe in you, and remind you of your light when you forget it yourself.

Finally, let go of expectations. Release doubt. Trust the timing of your life. Keep your heart open, your spirit strong, and never, ever give up. The best chapters are often the ones you never saw coming.

Loving, growing, remembering and living!

We are born, we grow, we birth into spirit; and because of our faith in the Almighty, we know that what comes next is life eternal with our Creator.

But while we are here in this earthly realm, how man of us clearly understand our path? What is it that we were put here to accomplish?

I don’t personally think it is about waking up early, grinding away in an office, stressing about the unending task list that lays open on the desk – there is certainly more. There must be!

This word is a mess, it is chaotic, lopsided and very screwy.

Isn’t it time to tune in and find a way to love? Find a way to use our gifts to serve the greater good? Isn’t is time to build relationships, make connections and hold tight to the people who mean the most to us? Isn’t it time to really begin to understand why we were placed here.

What is your purpose? This is a question I ask daily?

Somedays, I worry and stress and have bouts of extreme anxiety because I just don’t know if I am moving in the right direction. In other moments, I receive pure clarity that I am exactly where I am meant to be: placed on my path by God knowing that everything is unfolding exactly as it should be.

Recently, I read a passage from Proverbs; Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. 

This reminded me that when I am facing uncertainty or difficulty in my life, God gets it – God knows what is going on. Sometimes you just have to get out of the way and quiet and listen to the guidance he sends. God will not steer you down the wrong path.

Today, I was saddened to hear that my friend Cas birthed spirit; as I penned the sympathy card to drop in the mail to his Florida family, I remembered one of the last social media posts he shared – “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.”

The light bulb clicked, and I gained a bit more insight into why I was placed me this earth – I am here to build relationships, to share my talents of organizing and connecting things and people, to be authentic with my heart and my words and to share love and light with those I come in contact with.

It is that simple – there is no need to worry or stress or loose sleep – trust in God and love each other and you will be better for it.

Cas was a man of many words and great advice. He will be missed, he will be remembered, and he will be loved – I was blessed by his authenticity, his guidance and friendship through the years. Mostly, I thank him for reminding me that God has everything under control.
