I know it seems crazy to be totally decorated for Christmas the Sunday before Thanksgiving, but for me I do it because it reminds me of the loves that can’t be here this year to celebrate this magical season.
I will spend my evenings and lazy afternoons this holiday season beside the tree where the lights sparkle reminding me of my dogs, my grandparents and my friends that passed this earth too soon.
The special ornaments on the tree, trinkets, figurines, tablecloths, hand knitted blankets positioned throughout my home all bring special memories and reminders of love…
My heart breaks that these loves are not here in the physical to celebrate this holiday season with me, but my heart is also over flowing with love and joy because I know if I just sit in silence, they are right beside me in quiet twinkling lights of the tree…if I’m just silent and listen to the messages…they would tell me that the holidays are meant to love and celebrate with the beautiful amazing people that surround me RIGHT NOW.
We have all lost so many…we could sit in that sadness that sometimes overwhelms us, or we could listen to the wisdom that they share with us in the twinkling lights of the early decorated Christmas tree and make this the best Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year we have ever had in our lives…filled with giving, laughter, family, friendship, giggles, forgiveness, and lots of love.
