Can you believe the year is quickly coming to an end? Thanksgiving is just a few days away and Christmas will soon follow.
I don’t know about you, but for me this year has been a year of transitions- a year of constant movement. Change and reflection has been the recurring theme in the days, weeks and months of this year as I strived with all my heart to find some balance and make sense of the chaos! ❤️
I think these words may resonate with many of you, as it seems of late that the entire world is out of balance…political infighting, cultural differences, divorce, death, cancer…out of balance…spinning out of control on its axis ready to crumble is probably a better way to describe the state of our universe, and many of us feel it deep in our souls.
Many nights I sit awake and wonder WHY? Why is my path so different from other 47 year old women? Why is the world so messed up? Why am I angry and resentful? Why do I love so much? Why do I care so much about making a contribution to the greater good? Am I really making an impact in the world in which I live? Will I ever find the answers for which I am looking? Do YOU ever struggle to find the answers?
I look to silent meditation to find the answers, calm the mind, find balance, and soothe the soul; as I sit in deep and silent meditation each morning and night, the only answer that comes to me is keep moving toward the sun. That’s one bit of advice I can share with you.
Another suggestion for finding balance in a chaotic world is to form a circle of support around you. Lean on the people that love you – let them help you and more importantly LET THEM love you. It took me a long time to allow a support system inside my walls, but without my friends and family for love and laughter, my Duffield for companionship, my co-workers for support; I too, like the earth, would undoubtedly be spinning out of control on my axis ready to crumble!
As I think about Thanksgiving and the meaning behind the day., I think of all of you. I am blessed beyond measure! Because YOU continued to stand beside me, holding my hand, and providing guidance during this crazy overwhelming year of transition, I have become closer to my family and friends, I’ve let go of the people to which I needed to say goodbye, I learned to ask for help help, I grieved and was held up by people who loved me, I had amazing conversations that I never imagined possible, I laughed, I cried, I’ve succeed, I’ve thrived, I’ve met goals, I’ve over come anxiety, and I have survived…because of YOU!
May you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving full of many blessings. I am extremely honored and blessed to have all of you in my life. ❤️
Grateful! Thankful! Blessed!!
